Dong Nai cancels land reclamation notice for 1,200 billion inter-port road project

Due to changes in the route of the inter-port road and the fact that the project has not yet implemented compensation and resettlement support as per the 2010 decision, Dong Nai province has decided to revoke the old land acquisition notice.

The People's Committee of Dong Nai province has just announced the cancellation of the land acquisition notice dated August 2, 2010, issued by the Provincial People's Committee, regarding the acquisition of land for surveying, measuring, and preparing an investment project for an inter-port road in Phuoc Khanh, Phu Dong, Phu Huu, and Dai Phuoc communes, Nhon Trach district.

Nhon Trach is a locality with strong port development, so it has been investing heavily in connecting transportation infrastructure in recent years.

The reasons for cancellation are that the project has not yet implemented compensation, support, and resettlement work, and also because the project's route has changed from the original plan.

The People's Committee of Dong Nai province has instructed the People's Committee of Nhon Trach district to publicly announce the cancellation of the provincial People's Committee's notice of land acquisition for the project to the people of the aforementioned communes.

Simultaneously, the People's Committees of the communes were instructed to hold meetings to disseminate and post notices on the cancellation of land acquisition at the commune People's Committee headquarters and community gathering places within the project areas.

Regarding the Nhon Trach district inter-port road project, in June 2024, the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee approved the feasibility study report for the implementation of the compensation, support, resettlement, and land clearance project for phase 1.

Specifically, the total investment for the compensation, support, resettlement, and land clearance project for the inter-port road in Nhon Trach district, phase 1, is nearly 1,200 billion VND. The implementation period is from 2024 to 2026.

Phase 1 of the Nhon Trach District Inter-Port Road Project is a Group A project, with a length of over 8.9km divided into two sections: Section 1, approximately 6.94km long, starts at Ong Mai Canal, Phu Dong Commune, and ends at the intersection with Ly Thai To Road, Phu Huu Commune.

Section 1 has a road width of 61m; Section 2 is approximately 1.97km long, starting at the intersection with Ly Thai To Street and ending at the junction with Viet Thuan Thanh Port. Section 2 has a road width of 45m.

To implement phase 1 of the project, Nhon Trach district will have to reclaim nearly 52 hectares of land. Regarding resettlement, the project will require the relocation of approximately 251 households.
