Agribank capital flows help Cu Chi grow strongly

Coming out of the resistance war to save the country, the legendary land of Cu Chi - a place once known as "The land of steel and bronze", is growing stronger day by day, bringing a new, dynamic and modern appearance. Located in An Nhon Tay and Trung Lap Ha communes (Cu Chi district), Ms. Trinh Nguyen Anh Thu's Duc Sang orchid garden is one of the exemplary models of efficient agricultural production, bringing high economic value. Starting with 5,000 initial Mokara orchid plants, Ms. Thu quickly expanded the area to 6 hectares with 250,000 Mokara orchid plants of various types. Currently, Ms. Thu's orchid garden harvests 6,000-7,000 stems daily, with 70% sold domestically and the remainder consumed in Cambodia, bringing in an average revenue of over 1 billion VND per month.

To secure the resources for this robust development, Ms. Thu stated that, in addition to the support from the Cu Chi District People's Committee in accessing the city's policies encouraging agricultural restructuring, she also received timely financial assistance from Agribank 's Cu Chi branch.

With a loan of 19 billion VND from Agribank's Cu Chi branch, Ms. Thu expanded her farming area, invested in greenhouses, an automatic irrigation system, seedlings, and agricultural supplies, helping to increase productivity and product quality. In particular, the bank's preferential interest rate significantly reduced her financial burden and facilitated the maintenance of a stable cash flow during production.

The support from Agribank's Cu Chi branch was a timely boost that helped her seize opportunities and rise strongly. Throughout the loan process, she received enthusiastic support from the bank, from loan application and disbursement to debt restructuring and interest rate reductions during difficult times.

Similarly, Thien Nhien Viet Import-Export Co., Ltd. - a company specializing in producing vegetable and fruit powders under the Quang Thanh brand - has also experienced strong growth. Despite operating for less than 10 years, the company has achieved many admirable accomplishments: a 4-star OCOP certification, recognition as a Golden Agricultural Product of Ho Chi Minh City; and the title of Outstanding Rural Agriculture at both the city and national levels.

From its initial 1-hectare vegetable growing area in Cu Chi, Thien Nhien Viet has now expanded its raw material sourcing area to 200 hectares in many other locations. Currently, products under the Quang Thanh brand are not only widely available in major supermarket chains and reputable distribution networks nationwide, but are also exported to many countries around the world.

Looking back on the company's development over the years, Mr. Nguyen Hong Bac, Director of Thien Nhien Viet Import-Export Co., Ltd., particularly emphasized the supportive role of Agribank's Cu Chi branch from the very beginning of the business. Because the company's assets were located in a suspended planning zone, most banks refused its loan applications, leading to significant difficulties in investment and production. At a time when it seemed to be at a standstill, Agribank's Cu Chi branch opened a new path, helping the company access timely loan capital.

Without that partnership, we probably wouldn't have been able to achieve the sustainable development we have today,” Mr. Bac shared.

In particular, Agribank's Cu Chi branch staff have implemented many proactive and innovative solutions in accessing and providing credit capital to customers, contributing to the spread of capital throughout the economy. At the recent Bank-Business Connection Conference held in Cu Chi, Mr. Le Dinh Duc, Vice Chairman of the Cu Chi District People's Committee, assessed that the close relationship between customers and banks has created favorable conditions for both sides to develop together, thereby promoting the development of production and business by enterprises in the area, contributing to the economic growth of the district.
