4-star hotel project on "golden land" in Binh Dinh suspended

On July 30, information from the Department of Planning and Investment of Binh Dinh province said that Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee has just signed a document conveying the opinion of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on the policy of stopping the operation of the 4-star Europa hotel project - investor Thinh Trong Phat Company Limited, at 101 Tay Son Street, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province.

Accordingly, the suspension period is 12 months, starting from July 2024. The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Department of Planning and Investment to carry out procedures related to the suspension of the project.

According to the Department of Planning and Investment of Binh Dinh province, the reason for the temporary suspension of the project is because the investor did not comply with the content of the investment policy approval; had been punished for violations but continued to violate.

The purpose is for investors to be responsible for implementing fire prevention and fighting procedures, construction permits, and starting construction of the project during the project suspension period.

If after this period, the investor does not complete the above procedures, the province will consider terminating the investment project according to Clause 2, Article 48, Investment Law 2020.

In case Thinh Trong Phat Company Limited complies with all the above procedures, the project will continue to be implemented after the suspension period ends.

Previously, on May 16, 2023, the Chief Inspector of the Department of Planning and Investment issued Decision No. 19/QD-XPHC to impose an administrative penalty on the delay in project implementation against this Company, with a fine of VND 85 million. The investor has complied with the above penalty decision.

4-star Europa Hotel Project Dinh Provincial People's Committee approved the investment policy in 2020. According to the documents, the project is built on an area of ​​933.5m2. The project's objective is to invest in building a 22-storey hotel including the basement; guest items include 106 4-star standard hotel rooms, office space for rent, restaurant service area for on-site guests with a capacity of more than 200 people and some guest service areas such as spa for health care and beauty.
