Maysa, whose real name is Maysa Bouavone Phanthaboouasy, was born in 2001 in Luang Prabang province, Laos. She recently graduated from the Faculty of Economics , Quang Ninh Industrial University.

Maysa is known as a very popular TikToker and YouTuber on social media. Currently, Maysa has nearly 1 million followers on TikTok; over 394,000 followers on her Fanpage and 28,000 followers on her personal Facebook page; and over 86,000 subscribers on YouTube…

Maysa's videos often revolve around her daily life in Vietnam and Laos. Additionally, she frequently posts videos about travel, cultural experiences, and food in various provinces across Vietnam. Maysa's videos on social media platforms are very popular among young people in Vietnam and Laos. She is currently one of the most well-known and popular KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) on social media.

Because of these commendable actions, Maysa has been repeatedly invited to participate in cultural programs, major celebrations related to Vietnam-Laos relations, or national events.

Maysa attended the 70th anniversary celebration of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) in Dien Bien province.

Speaking to a reporter from the Industry and Trade Newspaper, Maysa said that Vietnam is a country she had heard a lot about since she was a child. Growing up and learning about the history of Laos and Vietnam made her even more interested and curious about Vietnamese culture, country, and people.

“I’ve loved Vietnam since I was little. After finishing high school in Laos, I received a government scholarship, so I didn’t hesitate to choose Vietnam as my study destination. I also chose Quang Ninh University of Industry as my place of residence throughout my journey,” Maysa shared.

Speaking about what impressed her most about Vietnam, Maysa said she greatly admired the patriotism of the Vietnamese people, especially the image of the national flag. Along with that, the enthusiastic, kind, and open nature of the people made her feel love for Vietnam and a strong desire to stay there.

Maysa also added that she initially intended to create a social media channel to share about her daily life, but the motivation that fueled her success today is her desire to further strengthen the friendship between Vietnam and Laos. She hopes that Vietnamese people will learn more about Laos and that Laotians will learn more about Vietnam. Maysa believes that her simple, sincere videos, her love for Vietnam and Laos, and her acquired Vietnamese language skills have helped her gain more recognition on social media.

"When I post videos about Vietnam, people in Laos are very curious and interested. Many people want me to translate them into Lao so that people there can understand more about Vietnam. I will improve this in the future so that the videos can spread more widely."

Maysa is a former student of the Faculty of Economics, Quang Ninh Industrial University.

Maysa also affirmed that choosing to study in Vietnam was the right decision. She hopes that more young Laotians will come to Vietnam to study, as students here can learn many things, from knowledge and work environment to understanding cultural traditions and society. Furthermore, she finds Vietnam to be a dynamic, safe environment, very suitable for Laotian students who wish to study abroad.

“I always remember the saying, ‘Vietnam and Laos, our two countries, have a friendship deeper than the Red River and the Mekong River.’ I hope that my small actions will contribute to spreading the culture of both countries and strengthening the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos,” Maysa expressed.

Recently, this young woman graduated from Quang Ninh Industrial University, and she openly shared her plans to continue living in Vietnam.

“My immediate plan is to continue staying here to learn and explore Vietnam’s historical and cultural sites. In particular, I will frequently return to Laos to spread the culture, beautiful scenery, and cuisine, as well as promote my homeland. Currently, I am in Laos completing the paperwork and procedures to continue my Master’s studies in Vietnam ,” Maysa added.
