Attending were APGN delegates of more than 80 members from 10 countries including: China, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam.

The delegation of Dak Nong province was led by Ms. Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Director of Dak Nong Geopark Management Board.

Established in 2004, APGN has now developed with more than 80 Geoparks. Over the past time, the network has organized many activities in the fields of education , conservation, geotourism, sustainable development, etc. to bring the Geopark model closer to the public. Through this, it helps people understand the important role of preserving and promoting the natural and cultural values of Geoparks in life.

At the meeting, member countries reported on the performance of their National Geopark Networks.
On the Vietnamese side, the representative of the Vietnam Geopark's Professional Subcommittee, in charge of the Dak Nong Geopark Management Board, Ms. Tran Nhi Bach Van reported on a number of key activities of the Vietnam National Geopark in the 2023-2024 period. This includes a number of key tasks such as: supporting Dak Nong Geopark in the re-evaluation as a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2023, supporting Lang Son Geopark in submitting and defending the dossier for recognition as a UNESCO Global Geopark and a number of outstanding activities of member Geoparks,...
In addition, the Vietnam Geopark Network also proposed a number of directions for future activities to strengthen the activities of member Geoparks and promote sustainable socio-economic development for localities pursuing the Geopark model.
This activity is part of a series of programs within the framework of the 2024 UNESCO Global Geopark Network Asia-Pacific International Conference in Cao Bang, taking place from September 8-15.
