As of December 8, the 33rd SEA Games Organizing Committee has almost completed the main items as well as the decoration and cleaning in the areas in front of and inside the swimming pool. The toilet areas, walls... have been painted and repaired so they still look very new. The smell of paint even lingers around the competition area.

The SEA Games welcome gate is located in front of the aquatic sports palace. Right next to it is a memorial stele to Queen Mother Sirikit of Thailand, mother of King Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X), who passed away on the evening of October 24.

Swimmer Tran Hung Nguyen commented that this pool has a flat bottom, so the resistance is a bit greater than other pools. However, this is not a big problem for Vietnamese swimmers.

The Vietnamese swimming team has 16 athletes who will compete in 34/38 indoor swimming events. In addition, the team will participate in 3 outdoor swimming events and the target is from 5 to 7 gold medals. The gold medal target of the Vietnamese swimming team is placed on the individual events of Nguyen Huy Hoang, Tran Hung Nguyen, Pham Thanh Bao, Nguyen Quang Thuan and the men's freestyle relay team event. At the 33rd SEA Games, swimming will start from December 10-15 and each day of competition will have gold medal events.
