Approved to build a 1,700 billion bridge across the river, connecting Bac Giang

TPO - On February 19th, the Bac Giang Provincial People's Council approved a resolution on the investment plan for the construction of Ha Bac 1 Bridge and connecting access roads to Bac Ninh province, with a total value of approximately 1,700 billion VND.

Accordingly, Bac Giang and Bac Ninh are two bordering provinces, separated by the Cau River. In recent years, the two provinces have actively coordinated in planning and investing in the development of transportation infrastructure to strengthen connectivity between the two provinces.

To date, several transportation projects connecting Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces have been and are being invested in; however, transportation links between the two provinces remain challenging, failing to create the impetus to fully exploit and develop the potential and advantages of each locality, and to support and promote mutual development.

The Ha Bac 1 Bridge is located on the DT.298B road in Bac Giang province and the DT.295C road in Bac Ninh province, connecting the DT.398 (Bac Giang province's Ring Road IV) with National Highway 18 (QL18). This is a very important project in connecting the transportation networks of the two provinces.

The completed project will create a new transportation gateway connecting Bac Giang province with Bac Ninh province, helping to gradually improve the regional transportation system and urban infrastructure of Viet Yen; opening up new opportunities and impetus to promote economic development, cultural exchange, and social interaction between the two provinces and the region.

The Ha Bac 1 Bridge is being constructed at a location determined according to the Bac Ninh Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister. The Ha Bac 1 Bridge has a width of 22.5m and is a permanent structure built using reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete. The bridge is approximately 970m long; the approach roads at both ends are being developed according to the approved plan, ensuring connectivity with the regional transportation system.

The total investment is approximately 1,700 billion VND. The project will begin investment preparation in 2025, with construction expected to start in 2026 and be completed in 2027.
