As scheduled, on the fixed monthly transaction day, staff from the Ea Kar District Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) are present at the transaction points in the communes and towns to carry out their assigned tasks. Each month, the Ea Kar District Branch of the VBSP organizes 16 transaction sessions in 16 communes and towns. At these sessions, staff from the Branch, along with local political organizations, disseminate and publicize preferential credit policies for poor and near-poor households and other policy beneficiaries; receive loan applications, disburse funds, collect principal, interest, and savings; and implement debt processing procedures.
Ms. H Wien Nie (born in 1979, residing in Mhang hamlet, Cu Hue commune, Ea Kar district) stated that on October 11th, she visited the transaction point of the Ea Kar District Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies in Cu Hue commune to complete the procedures for disbursing a 50 million VND loan. During the transaction, Ms. H Wien was informed by staff of the Ea Kar District Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies about the interest rate, loan term, and the rights and obligations of the borrower…
Accordingly, her family was able to borrow capital under the "Loan Program for Newly Escaped Poverty Households," with a loan term of 5 years, an interest rate of only 8.25% per year, interest paid monthly, and principal repaid in installments every 6 months. The procedures at the transaction point were easy and quick, with dedicated support from the staff.
Previously, on September 25, 2024, Mr. Ninh Van Nhay from Hamlet 22, Cu Bong Commune, Ea Kar District, also came to the Mobile Transaction Point of the Ea Kar District Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies in Cu Bong Commune to pay interest on a 50 million VND loan, borrowed under the "Loan Program for Production and Business Households in Difficult Areas".
Mr. Nhậy shared: “The mobile transaction point in Cư Bông commune is located right in the center of the commune, with a specific transaction schedule and fully equipped facilities. This has helped my family and other households save time and costs when conducting transactions such as: loan disbursement, interest payment, principal repayment, savings deposits… In addition, information about preferential credit programs is clearly and detailedly presented on the notice boards, making it very convenient for people to check and monitor.”
According to Pham Van Anh, Director of the Ea Kar District Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, before each mobile transaction session in communes and towns, the transaction teams in each commune hold meetings with entrusted socio-political organizations and heads of savings and loan groups to evaluate the results of the previous month's tasks, resolve difficulties and obstacles in the transaction process, and ensure the rights of borrowers. Thanks to this, the quality of credit operations at the mobile transaction points of the Ea Kar District Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies is constantly improving.
As of October 31, 2024, the total outstanding policy credit reached VND 660.145 billion (an increase of VND 51.097 billion compared to the beginning of the year). From the beginning of 2024 to date, the Ea Kar District Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies has disbursed VND 169.097 billion to 3,613 loan recipients at transaction points in communes and towns (accounting for 99.62% of the district's total disbursement); the amount of debt collected is VND 126.224 billion.
In the coming period, the Ea Kar District Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies will continue to strictly and diligently adhere to credit procedures, analyze and promptly handle overdue debts. At the same time, it will further improve the knowledge, professional skills, and communication skills of its staff, thereby enhancing the quality of service to the people.
In addition, the presiding body, in coordination with entrusted socio-political organizations, will strengthen inspection and supervision of borrowers regarding the proper use of loan capital, aiming to manage and utilize preferential state capital effectively. This will contribute to the local government's efforts in poverty reduction and social welfare in the district.
According to Mr. Pham Van Anh, Director of the Ea Kar District Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP), the unit is currently implementing 18 preferential credit programs in the area (13 of which are currently being implemented and 5 have stopped lending), with a total outstanding loan balance of VND 660.145 billion, benefiting 14,331 households. The branch's presence at the commune and town level has facilitated access to preferential policies and reduced costs for poor and near-poor households and other policy beneficiaries. Whether it's sunny or rainy, a holiday or a weekend, wherever there are poor and near-poor households and policy beneficiaries, the VBSP staff can be found.
In all 16 communes and towns, 16 transaction points have been established. These transaction sessions are held on a fixed day each month, at least once a month (including Saturdays and Sundays), to handle disbursement, debt collection, interest collection, savings collection and disbursement, and other related transactions. They receive loan applications, debt processing documents, and other relevant files; receive and process customer feedback and suggestions; interact with savings and loan group leaders; hold meetings with entrusted units at the commune level and savings and loan groups; directly verify loan balances, outstanding interest, and deposit balances with customers; publicly display loan lists and new policy documents; explain, guide, and disseminate information to borrowers about the State's credit policies and the procedures and processes of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP), added Pham Van Anh, Director of the VBSP Ea Kar District Transaction Office.
