The Daegu office is expected to attract a large pool of human resources for FPT Software in this market.
FPT Software's new office (a subsidiary of FPT Group) is located on the 5th floor of the Daegu Bank building in Buk-gu district, the busiest area of Daegu city. Daegu is the third most populous city in South Korea and has over 6,000 manufacturing businesses of all sizes, 43% of which are involved in operations engineering, machinery manufacturing, and automotive component production. This is FPT Software's 82nd office globally.
According to the plan, the office will expand its search for and collaboration with financial companies, banks, and clients in the automotive, manufacturing, and robotics sectors in Daegu, aiming to build a software development center and extend its operations to neighboring areas such as Daejon and Kumi. Specifically, in the field of IT infrastructure development for the Finance and Insurance sector, FPT Software will build an ODC (Offshore Development Center) to strengthen cooperation with Daegu banks.
With the advantage of having a large concentration of Vietnamese students and a not-too-expensive cost of living, the Daegu office is expected to attract a rich source of human resources for FPT Software in this market. In the next 5 years, this office expects to reach the 1,000-person mark, becoming a technology “hot spot” in the Southeast region of Korea.
Daegu focuses on developing a number of key industries in the future such as the elevated transportation system (UAM-linked mobility); construction, robot manufacturing; healthcare; semiconductor components... With these favorable conditions, Daegu was chosen by FPT to realize the plan to expand its customer base and develop human resources in Korea.
Established in South Korea in 2016, FPT Software currently has nearly 200 employees working directly in South Korea and over 1,700 remote support engineers in Vietnam, providing world-class technology solutions and services to leading clients in South Korea, including top companies such as LG Electronics, LG CNS, Shinhan Bank, Daegu Bank, and Shinsegae I&C.
