Vietnamese women's futsal team no longer starved of talent, and a lucky charm is in attendance: Will they win their opening match today?

The women's futsal competition at the 33rd SEA Games officially kicks off today (December 12th). In Group B, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will face Indonesia in their opening match. Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team aim to secure all three points in this encounter to build momentum for their medal campaign at the Games.

Which team will Vietnam play against in the opening match of the women's futsal tournament?

The match was predicted to be challenging, given Indonesia's fast-paced style of play and abundant physical fitness. However, the Vietnamese women's futsal team entered their opening match with confidence after a month of thorough preparation at home, as well as two high-quality friendly matches against the Chinese women's futsal team in Hangzhou.

Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang affirmed that the entire team is ready to embark on the campaign. Training, performance assessment, and tactical refinement have all been systematically implemented with the aim of achieving good results at the SEA Games 33.

Besides technical aspects, the VFF (Vietnam Football Federation) also paid special attention to logistics, as all teams faced common difficulties regarding the meal menus provided by the SEA Games organizing committee. This situation was anticipated based on the experiences of the Vietnam U23 team and the Vietnam women's futsal team. Both the U23 and women's futsal teams suffered from nutritional deficiencies due to insufficient food portions provided by the organizing committee.

Therefore, in parallel with reporting to the Vietnamese sports delegation to propose adjustments, the VFF also proactively supplemented the menu with meals from restaurants recommended by the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, in order to ensure the best possible nutritional quality for the players.

Earlier, VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu personally visited the hotel where the men's and women's futsal teams were staying in Nonthaburi to inspect living conditions and instructed the logistics department to coordinate closely with the hotel in serving the teams.

This afternoon (December 12th), VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan and VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu will attend the match to encourage and motivate the Vietnamese women's futsal team. Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan arrived in Thailand yesterday and witnessed firsthand the Vietnamese women's team's victory in Chonburi, as well as the U23 Vietnamese team's win in Bangkok.
