On December 10th, in Nui Thanh commune, the Command of Coast Guard Region 2 held a conference to review the experience gained over more than a year of implementing the Project to organize the "I Love My Homeland's Sea and Islands" competition nationwide for the period 2024-2030 and beyond (Project 3934).
2025 marks the first year that the Coast Guard Region 2 Command will implement Project 3934. The unit will coordinate with departments and agencies in five provinces and cities from Quang Tri to Gia Lai to develop a plan and organize the "I Love My Homeland's Seas and Islands" competition in both online and in-person formats.
To date, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command has organized 6 in-person competitions and 9 online competitions in localities within its jurisdiction. For the online competitions, 97 schools in 21 coastal communes and wards of Quang Tri province, Hue city, Da Nang city, and Quang Ngai province participated; over 56,700 students participated with nearly 143,000 entries.
The Regional Command, in coordination with the Departments of Education and Training of the provinces and cities, organized the closing ceremony and awarded prizes for the 6 online competition rounds, presenting 18 team prizes and 600 individual prizes along with competition emblems.

For the 6 live competitions, the Organizing Committee awarded 69 prizes to students with outstanding achievements (6 first prizes, 9 second prizes, 12 third prizes, and 42 consolation prizes) and 32 prizes in the video creation competition "The Sea, Islands of the Fatherland and the Coast Guard Soldier".
At the same time, the Coast Guard Region 2 awarded 248 scholarships and 104 bicycles to students from disadvantaged families and fishermen who excelled in their studies despite difficult circumstances, along with many other gifts to schools participating in the competition, with a total expenditure of over 1 billion VND.
Besides the achievements, the Command of Coast Guard Region 2 determined that further innovation is needed to increase the attractiveness of the competition, ensure its long-term organization, facilitate coordination, save manpower and costs; expand communication, attract viewers, maintain identity and enhance the educational value of maritime sovereignty and islands, while promoting the image of the Vietnam Coast Guard, in a way that is appropriate for junior high school students.
Based on that, the Regional Command is developing the format for the regional final round and is continuing to refine it before reporting to the Steering Committee of Project 3934 for unified implementation throughout the entire force.
