According to our survey, in addition to traditional mooncakes such as roast chicken, ham, char siu, mung bean, red bean, lotus seed, and green tea, manufacturers will also introduce several new flavors to meet customer preferences for the 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival.
Having dominated the mooncake market for many years, this year Kinh Do continues to launch mooncakes with molten chocolate lava filling, yuzu orange snow filling, Japanese green tea snow filling, and a golden lion-shaped mooncake for young customers.
Meanwhile, Sanest Khanh Hoa bird's nest brand is launching its first line of sticky rice cakes alongside its signature baked goods. In addition, they are offering sugar-free and low-sugar product lines to meet consumer demand.
Besides focusing on changing the flavor and quality of the cakes, manufacturers are also innovating in packaging design with eye-catching and elegant colors and patterns, making them suitable as gifts during the Lunar New Year reunion.

According to reports, the price of mooncakes this year has also been slightly adjusted upwards by 2,000-3,000 VND per piece. Ms. Bui Thi Thuy Oanh, owner of Thuy Oanh grocery store (Dien Hong ward), said: Kinh Do mooncakes range in price from 42,000 VND per piece for soft, sweet-filled mooncakes to over 400,000 VND per piece for large mooncakes with special fillings. Meanwhile, Bibica mooncakes are priced from 51,000 VND per piece for soft, sweet-filled mooncakes to 130,000 VND per piece for mixed-filling mooncakes.
Gift boxes also come in a variety of price ranges to suit different consumer budgets. For example, Sanest Khanh Hoa mooncakes range in price from around 350,000 VND/box/4 pieces to approximately 1,700,000 VND/box/4 pieces.

Besides major brands, many local bakeries are also launching handmade products specifically for the Lunar New Year reunion, priced from 55,000 to 75,000 VND per piece.
In Quy Nhon ward, Kelyn bakery launched its "Proud of Vietnam" mooncake line, attracting the attention of young people. These striking mooncakes are colored a vibrant red using pink bean paste, with prominent yellow motifs illustrating the map of Vietnam, a five-pointed golden star, and a bronze drum.

The Mid-Autumn Festival in 2025 falls on October 6th (Gregorian calendar). Generally, store-bought mooncakes can be kept for 1-3 months; handmade mooncakes have a shelf life of 4-7 days depending on the type. Therefore, consumers should check and buy the freshest mooncakes to ensure the longest shelf life.
