Domestic pepper prices on December 14th

The domestic pepper market on December 14th recorded a slight decrease of 500 VND/kg in most key growing regions. Currently, the purchase price of pepper in the Central Highlands and Southeast regions ranges from 148,500 to 150,000 VND/kg.

According to reports, the lowest price of 148,500 VND/kg was recorded in Gia Lai and Dong Nai. Meanwhile, Dak Lak and Lam Dong had the highest price at 150,000 VND/kg. In Ho Chi Minh City, the price of pepper remained stable at 149,000 VND/kg.

According to experts, the downward adjustment in domestic pepper prices is considered short-term, reflecting the cautious sentiment of the market as export prices remain stable. Pepper prices are expected to fluctuate within a narrow range in the near future, awaiting clearer signals from the international market.

World pepper market

According to an update from the International Pepper Association (IPC) on the morning of December 14th, export pepper prices on the world market have not recorded any new fluctuations. Major markets maintain stable price levels due to the absence of any sudden changes in supply and demand.

  • In Indonesia: Lampung black pepper prices remained at US$6,996/ton; Muntok white pepper prices remained stable at US$9,645/ton.
  • In Brazil: Pepper prices remain pegged at $6,250 per ton.
  • In Vietnam: The export price of white pepper is $9,250 per ton. The prices of black pepper (500 gr/l and 550 gr/l) are $6,500 per ton and $6,700 per ton, respectively.
  • In Malaysia: The prices of ASTA black pepper and ASTA white pepper remained at US$9,200/ton and US$12,300/ton respectively.

Overall, the global pepper market is currently in a period of stagnation, awaiting new signals from import demand and developments in global supply.
