VTC NewsVTC News02/12/2024

World oil prices

At 6:00 AM on December 3rd, WTI crude oil prices rose by $0.02, or 0.03%, to $68.12 per barrel. Brent crude oil prices fell by $0.01, or 0.01%, to $71.83 per barrel.

Oil prices fluctuated amid hopes of stronger demand stemming from increased factory activity in China and the belief that the US Federal Reserve will not cut interest rates further at its December meeting.

A private sector survey showed that Chinese manufacturing activity grew at its fastest pace in five months in November, boosting optimism among Chinese businesses just as U.S. President-elect Donald Trump escalated trade threats.

Meanwhile, the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, which took effect last Wednesday, appears increasingly fragile. The Israeli military said on Monday that it is now attacking "terrorist" targets in Lebanon amid mutual accusations of ceasefire violations between Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

This week, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC+) will meet on December 5th to make policy decisions for the first few months of 2025.

George Pavel, Managing Director of Naga.com Middle East, said: "Everyone will be watching for the possibility of OPEC+ delaying its production increase plans, as an indefinite delay could ease downward price pressures."

Domestic fuel prices

In the price adjustment on November 28th, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline increased by 497 VND/liter, not exceeding 19,840 VND/liter. RON95 gasoline increased by 329 VND/liter, not exceeding 20,857 VND/liter.

In this price adjustment period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance continue to neither allocate funds nor utilize the fuel price stabilization fund for these products.
