According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of Hai Au Phat company, on the world market, oil prices fell by nearly 7% last week, breaking the strong upward trend of the previous two weeks. This was also the sharpest weekly price drop since the beginning of the year.
This week, world oil prices are trending upwards but have yet to reach the $80 per barrel mark.
" In this context, if the regulatory agency does not intervene in the fuel price stabilization fund, domestic gasoline prices could decrease by 800-1,000 VND/liter. Diesel prices could decrease by 400-500 VND/liter/kg, " Mr. Thang said.

Sharing the same forecast, Ms. Phung Thi Hong, Director of Hong Minh petroleum company, believes that domestic gasoline and diesel prices are likely to decrease in line with world prices. The reduction could be 900-1000 VND/liter for gasoline and 400-600 VND/liter/kg for diesel. However, if the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance utilize the price stabilization fund, the gasoline price reduction might be less significant.
If the above forecast is accurate, domestic gasoline prices will see their first decrease after four consecutive increases.
In the most recent fuel price adjustment (February 1st), fuel prices were uniformly increased. Specifically, the price of RON95 gasoline rose above 24,000 VND/liter.
Specifically, E5 RON92 gasoline increased by 742 VND/liter, not exceeding 22,913 VND/liter, and RON95 gasoline increased by 753 VND/liter, reaching 24,160 VND/liter.
Diesel fuel prices increased by 623 VND/liter, not exceeding 20,999 VND/liter; kerosene prices increased by 379 VND/liter, not exceeding 20,923 VND/liter; and fuel oil prices increased by 593 VND/kg, not exceeding 16,087 VND/kg.
In this price adjustment period, the regulatory agency decided to allocate funds to the price stabilization fund for fuel oil at 300 VND/kg (the same as the previous period), but not for gasoline, diesel, and kerosene.
