Previously, on the evening of July 28, Mr. Le Van Khoa (49 years old), residing at 17A Phan Chu Trinh, Quang Tri ward, discovered a pangolin in front of the gate. When discovered, the pangolin was in a healthy condition.
Identifying this as a rare animal, Mr. Khoa captured it and reported it to the Quang Tri Ward Police to contact the forest rangers to hand it over.
According to the leader of Trieu Phong Forest Protection Department - Quang Tri, the pangolin weighed 1.3kg, measured 50cm, and its gender has not been determined. The pangolin is a Java (Manis Javanica), a rare animal. This species is listed in the Vietnam Red Book as critically endangered.
