With the advantage of being a technology company in the leading group in the AI race, Google has long provided many editing solutions to its service users.

On Google Photos, the company offers many useful AI-integrated utilities such as removing unwanted objects in photos, adjusting portrait lighting, sharpening details... These tools were originally intended for Pixel device users, but now customers who own other devices and have purchased a Google One subscription package can also use them, regardless of the value of the purchased package.

The "software giants" have just made a surprising move when they announced that all Android and iOS users can experience the AI image editing tool provided by the company completely free of charge starting May 15.

Google's AI photo editing tool will be available for free to users.

The only requirements are related to the configuration of the device. Specifically, Android phones need to run version 8.0 or later, while iOS requires at least version 15.0 or later. All devices should have at least 4 GB of RAM. Otherwise, all Google Photos users can use AI to edit photos for free without a Google One subscription.

Additionally, free users on Android and iOS can use Magic Editor, a generative AI tool capable of handling complex image editing tasks, for a maximum of 10 edits and saves per month for free users. To use more, users must own a Pixel phone or have a premium Google One subscription (pay to buy from 2TB of storage per month).

For some editing tools, users will have to download them first and select "Install". This action recommends that the device must be connected to Wi-Fi to ensure no mobile data charges are incurred and have at least 1 GB of free memory on the device. However, some other AI features such as Audio Eraser, Best Take, Video Boost are still exclusive to Pixel 8 series phone users.
