Hanoi: Electricity consumption at noon on August 4th reached its highest level

According to the Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI), the city's electricity consumption reached its highest level ever, reaching 5,988 MW at 1:20 p.m. on August 4.

Notably, in just the first 4 days of August, electricity consumption increased by 1,300 MW (≈27%), showing that the demand for electricity has not shown any signs of cooling down.

The above figures clearly reflect the impact of weather on electricity consumption habits, especially among household customers with the largest consumption proportion.

The outdoor temperature is constantly maintained at 37-39°C, causing devices such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and electric fans to operate more and longer to maintain efficiency. This leads to increased electricity consumption even though the usage time remains unchanged.

EVNHANOI recommends that customers, offices and production facilities join hands to use electricity economically and effectively, turn off unnecessary electrical equipment and limit the use of high-capacity equipment during peak electricity consumption hours. 12pm to 3pm and 10pm to 12am daily.

At the same time, pay attention to using air conditioning reasonably (set at 26°C or higher, use in combination with fans). In addition, using energy-saving labeled devices and regularly maintaining air conditioners and refrigerators are also effective ways to reduce electricity consumption.

Faced with that situation, EVNHANOI recommends that people proactively monitor their family's daily electricity consumption through EVNHANOI's customer care ecosystem such as the EVNHANOI App or the website evnhanoi.vn.

Through these platforms, customers can check meter readings, compare consumption between periods, and especially set warning thresholds to receive timely information when electricity output exceeds the allowed threshold.

This is an effective solution for people to adjust their electricity usage behavior from the beginning, instead of waiting until the end of the month to be "shocked" by the bill.

Using electricity economically not only brings direct economic benefits to each household but also helps protect the power system, reduce the risk of local overload and ensure stable power supply for the entire city during peak hot days.
