Two brothers in Can Tho have been supporting students for many years.

At examination centers throughout Can Tho City, hundreds of enthusiastic volunteers distributed bottled water, pens, rulers, and provided umbrellas to protect students from the rain. Everyone brought a cheerful and enthusiastic spirit to provide the best possible energy for the candidates.

Phan Quoc Viet is assisting students taking the high school graduation exam.

Among those young volunteers were two brothers, Phan Quoc Viet (27 years old) and Phan Nguyen Hoang Minh (16 years old, residing in Thoi Binh ward, Can Tho city), who enthusiastically provided support at the Phan Ngoc Hien High School exam site. This is the third year that Viet and Hoang have participated in the Exam Support Program. Viet alone has been involved in this program for eight years.

In 2016, when Viet took his high school graduation exam, the encouragement and support from the volunteers helped him feel more relaxed and comfortable, allowing him to get accepted into the Law program at Can Tho University. This inspired him to participate in the program the following year (2017), a way he feels it's meaningful. Viet added that the lively and cheerful atmosphere of the exam support program is very suitable for someone who loves youth union activities like him.

The two brothers are Phan Quoc Viet and Phan Nguyen Hoang Minh.

Viet himself has been involved in Youth Union activities for 8 years, holding various positions and currently serving as the Deputy Secretary of the Thoi Binh Ward Youth Union (Ninh Kieu District). Viet shared: "As a Youth Union worker, I have the opportunity to participate in the 'Supporting Students During Exams' program every year, but I always feel excited and look forward to this meaningful event."

Phan Nguyen Hoang Minh shared his reason for participating in the exam support program. He had once wondered why his older brother liked participating so much, regardless of the hardships, rain or shine, to help and give items to candidates. In 8th grade, Minh followed his brother to participate once to see what it was like, and has been drawn to it ever since, participating for three consecutive years. Minh shared that the work is hard but brings more joy. Parents and candidates also appreciate the support team, so everyone is motivated.

According to Minh, the work of the exam support team is not simply about handing out water, pens, and sending good wishes and encouragement to the candidates, but also about proactively reaching out to share information to alleviate parents' worries.

Their father abandoned them when they were young, and their mother single-handedly raised Minh and Viet. Minh explained that his mother worked as a tailor. Therefore, the two brothers often helped her trim clothes and also took on the tasks of cooking, washing dishes, and cleaning the house so she could focus on her work.
