Two brothers in Can Tho have been supporting students for many years.

At the exam sites in Can Tho City, hundreds of enthusiastic volunteers distributed mineral water, pens, rulers, and people helped hold umbrellas to help the students avoid getting wet. Everyone brought a joyful and excited spirit to transmit the best energy to the candidates.

Phan Quoc Viet supports candidates for high school exams.

Among those young volunteers, there are two brothers Phan Quoc Viet (27 years old) and Phan Nguyen Hoang Minh (16 years old, living in Thoi Binh ward, Can Tho city) who also enthusiastically support at the examination site of Phan Ngoc Hien High School. This is the third year that Viet and Hoang have participated in the Exam Support Program. If counting Viet alone, he has participated in this program for 8 years.

In 2016, Viet took the high school graduation exam. On the day he entered the exam room, he was encouraged and motivated by the volunteers, which helped him feel more comfortable and relaxed, so he passed the Law program at Can Tho University. That was the inspiration for Viet to participate in this program the following year (2017), because he found it meaningful. Viet added that the atmosphere of the exam season support was exciting and joyful, very suitable for someone who loves Union activities like him.

Viet himself has participated in the Youth Union for 8 years, held many positions and is currently the Deputy Secretary of the Thoi Binh Ward Youth Union (Ninh Kieu District). Viet shared: "Working in the Youth Union, every year I have the opportunity to participate in the Exam Support Campaign, but I always feel excited and look forward to this meaningful event."

Phan Nguyen Hoang Minh shared the reason for participating in the exam season support, wondering why his brother liked to participate in the exam season support so much, not minding the hardship, rain or shine to support and give items to the candidates. In 8th grade, Minh followed his brother to participate once, then he was attracted to participate until now for 3 consecutive years. Minh shared that this job is hard but there is more joy. Parents and candidates also really appreciate the support team, so everyone is motivated.

According to Minh, the work of the exam support team is not simply giving out water, pens, and sending good wishes and encouragement to candidates, but also proactively sharing to help parents worry less.

Their father abandoned them when they were young, and their mother raised Minh and Viet by herself. Minh said that at home, their mother worked as a tailor. Therefore, the two brothers often helped their mother cut the threads of the clothes and also took on the responsibility of cooking, washing dishes, and cleaning the house so that their mother could focus on her work.
