Hai Duong launched the Spring Tree Planting Festival from February 19

The organization launched the Tree Planting Festival to gradually turn the movement of reforestation and tree planting into a beautiful tradition of the people of Hai Duong province (archival photo).

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hai Duong province has just issued a plan to organize the "Tree Planting Festival in memory of President Ho Chi Minh" in the spring of the Year of the Dragon and to strengthen the management, protection, and development of forests in 2024.

Accordingly, Hai Duong province will launch the "Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to Uncle Ho" in the spring of the Year of the Dragon 2024 from the 10th day of the first lunar month to the 10th day of the second lunar month (i.e., from February 19th to March 19th). Forest protection and development work will take place from January to December 2024.

The organization launched the Tree Planting Festival to widely disseminate and call upon all officials, union members, youth, and people in the province to implement President Ho Chi Minh's teaching: "Spring is the time for planting trees, making the country ever more beautiful"; gradually making the movement of planting forests and green trees a beautiful tradition of the people of Hai Duong province.

Effectively implementing the Prime Minister's decision, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development 's plan, and the directives of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on organizing the "Tree Planting Festival in memory of President Ho Chi Minh," contributing to increasing forest cover, improving the ecological environment, mitigating the impacts of climate change, and protecting the environment.

The tree-planting festival must be practical and effective, avoiding ostentation and formality. The implementation should be tailored to the specific circumstances of each unit and locality to ensure uniformity and maximum effectiveness. After planting, proper care and protection are essential to ensure the trees grow and thrive.

Based on the specific conditions of each locality, the People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns shall organize or assign the People's Committees of communes, local organizations, and associations to organize the launching ceremony of the "Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to Uncle Ho" in their respective areas.

The Chairman of the District People's Committee directs and requests businesses, units, agencies, and schools to actively participate in the Tree Planting Festival in the district.

The People's Committee of Chi Linh City and Kinh Mon Town, in addition to organizing the tree planting festival, needs to focus on effectively managing, protecting, and developing forests in their areas. This includes focusing on managing and protecting existing forest areas, strictly protecting natural forests and special-use forests. The goal is to ensure that the forest cover rate of the province remains stable at 5.2-5.6% by 2030...
