Two new Deputy Prime Ministers and three Ministers received appointment decisions.

(Dan Tri) - Two Deputy Prime Ministers Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Ho Quoc Dung, along with the Ministers of three Ministries: Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs, Agriculture and Environment, received decisions to appoint them to new positions after being approved by the National Assembly.

On the morning of October 25, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the ceremony to announce the Decisions to appoint Deputy Prime Ministers: Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Ho Quoc Dung and Ministers of Foreign Affairs , Home Affairs, Agriculture and Environment.

At the event, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh announced and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented the President's decisions on personnel appointments.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated the newly appointed Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers for the 2021-2026 term. According to him, the newly approved Government members are all well-trained officials with in-depth expertise in their fields of work.

Among them, the new Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra has nearly 40 years of working experience. In her position as Minister of Home Affairs, she has made positive contributions to the work of building the organizational apparatus, building the team of cadres and civil servants, especially in the recent revolution of "reorganizing the country" and operating the two-level local government. The Prime Minister emphasized that with the approval of the appointment of Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra, for the first time, the Government has a female Deputy Prime Minister.

The new Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung has 35 years of working experience; trained and matured in a land rich in tradition. Before becoming the new Gia Lai Provincial Party Secretary, he made many important contributions to the cause of socio-economic development, ensuring social security of Binh Dinh province, making the province a bright spot of the country in digital transformation.

Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung is a senior Party leader with 43 years of service. He is well-trained and has extensive experience in diplomacy and strategic advisory work for the Party Central Committee.

New Minister of Home Affairs Do Thanh Binh is an official with nearly 40 years of working experience, having held many important leadership positions in the former Kien Giang province, before becoming Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee in January.

The Prime Minister appreciated Minister Do Thanh Binh's many contributions in turning the old Kien Giang province into one of the key economic zones of the Mekong Delta; a province strong in marine economy and tourism development.

Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang has more than 30 years of experience, holding various positions both at the central and local levels. Before returning to the central level, as the former Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, he and the provincial leadership team focused on leading and directing Hai Duong to become a province in the high growth group of the Red River Delta, ranking 11th in the country in terms of economic scale by 2024.

According to the Prime Minister, this term of the Government is a very special term with a huge amount of work, while there are many changes in the Government leadership team and Government members, so the tasks set for the Government are still very heavy.

The Prime Minister emphasized the goal of building a "development-oriented, clean, decisive, and people-serving" Government; prioritizing promoting growth, maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, striving for GDP growth of 8.3-8.5% in 2025 and sustainable double-digit growth in the coming years.

The Prime Minister directed relevant agencies to urgently develop a set of criteria to conduct cadre assessment on the basis of concretizing Regulation No. 366 of the Politburo on reviewing, evaluating and classifying the quality of collectives and individuals in the political system.

On behalf of the appointed personnel, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra shared that this is an honor but also a great responsibility.

The new Deputy Prime Minister and the new staff pledged to work with all their heart and highest responsibility, and to constantly cultivate and practice revolutionary ethics, strive to learn, be receptive, listen, and innovate their thinking and working methods to produce effective products.
