On December 1st, Ho Chi Minh City Open University awarded diplomas to graduates of its regular undergraduate program for the year 2024.
Out of a total of 2,831 graduating students across all majors, 28 students achieved the title of valedictorian of the entire course, 92 students had outstanding academic achievements throughout their course, and 1 student achieved the highest academic achievement in their major/course…
Dr. Le Xuan Truong, Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, said that in addition to solid specialized knowledge and foreign language proficiency meeting graduation requirements, new graduates are also equipped with a foundation of practical knowledge, social skills, and a broad perspective on their professional field through diverse extracurricular programs, business visits, internships, and practical training. Thanks to this, students have the opportunity to gain practical experience, hone their skills, and adapt quickly to the working environment.
According to statistics, over 93% of students graduating from Ho Chi Minh City Open University find employment within 12 months of graduation. The Accounting and Auditing Faculty boasts a 96 % employment rate for graduates. A significant percentage of Auditing graduates also find jobs that are entirely relevant to their field of study.
On the same day, the University of Science (a member of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) held the second graduation ceremony for Bachelor of Science degrees in 2024 to honor 1,870 new graduates who had successfully completed their studies and research.

Information from the university indicates that approximately 39.3% of students graduated with honors and distinctions. Notably, the percentage of students with honors and distinctions for the 2020 cohort (as of October 2024) in the Talented Bachelor Program and the Advanced Program exceeded 80%. There were 29 valedictorians of the university and their respective majors, and 2 students graduated early (2021 cohort).
Associate Professor Tran Le Quan, Rector of the University of Natural Sciences, affirmed that during the training process, the university has equipped its new graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills so that graduates can adapt to and meet the requirements of many different professions and fields.
