(BLC) - Located more than 10km from the center of Lai Chau city, the Gia Khau cave complex in Gia Khau I village, Sung Phai commune, is one of the province's most famous beautiful caves. Amidst the vast green mountains and forests, this place is blessed by nature with a majestic and mystical beauty, captivating every visitor who sets foot here and making them reluctant to leave.

Gia Khau I cave system was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a provincial scenic relic in 2009. In 2016, Gia Khau I cave system was officially opened, serving domestic and foreign tourists to visit and enjoy the wild beauty of the mountains and forests here.

To reach the Gia Khau I cave system, visitors walk along stone steps built by the locals, stretching about 2km from the village's tourist spot. They cross several high mountains, two small bridges, and ancient, moss-covered rocks. Notably, along the way, visitors can stop to rest in small huts, take photos amidst the vast tea hills, and immerse themselves in the dreamy atmosphere of lush greenery, colorful butterflies, and the sounds of forest birds.

Gia Khau I cave complex has three caves in three different directions, including Ron cave, Monkey cave and Bear cave associated with a love legend called “The story of Sung Sua and Pang Chua”. To get to these three caves, visitors must pass through Trinh Nu stream which is just wide enough for one person to pass through.

The three caves each possess a unique beauty, creating different impressions. The deeper you go inside, the more expansive the scenery becomes, with stalactites and stalagmites appearing in various shapes, like a stunning sculpture created by a talented artist. Some resemble soft silk ribbons cascading from above, incredibly delicate and captivating. There are also spacious vaulted areas where white stalactites and stalagmites sprout profusely, truly eye-catching.

Beside the massive ice formations, stalactites transform into mounds of rice, dinosaur jaws, or whimsical creatures—from crocodiles wagging their tails and cute turtles to dragons soaring amidst stalactite clouds; coral reefs shimmer magically under the lights. On the ground, nature seems to paint stunning pictures of the Northwest mountains; some places feature majestic peaks, others terraced rice paddies stretching along the hillsides; and still others are covered in blossoms emerging from the depths of the earth…

Especially when tapping on the stone slabs, the sound emitted echoes like the voice of the stone, of the mountains and forests. Each stone slab is likened to a musical note creating a passionate love symphony like the love of Sung Sua for Pang Chua.

Besides its magical, shimmering, and majestic beauty, the cave system also delights visitors with its fresh, cool air. Especially the gentle patter of water dripping from the sparkling stalactites is delightful; it's even more enjoyable to catch those cool drops in your hands, a feeling of immense peace and tranquility.

Standing at the cave entrance and gazing into the distance, visitors can also enjoy moments of tranquility amidst nature. Admire the verdant valley bathed in brilliant golden sunlight; savor the fragrant scent of wildflowers and berries, the sweet nectar carried on the breeze, and listen to the chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves… Such a breathtakingly beautiful place beckons visitors from near and far to admire this wonder of creation.
