This evening (October 20th), Vietnam Railways Corporation held a ceremony to launch the high-quality Hanoi - Da Nang SE19/SE20 train. Speaking with a reporter from Giao Thong Newspaper, Mr. Dang Sy Manh, Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Railways Corporation, said that the railway has invested in renovating and upgrading the carriages to build the brand of the high-quality SE19/SE20 train with its own unique identity and enhanced aesthetics to attract passengers on the Hanoi - Da Nang route.
Vietnam Railways Corporation selects its train attendants (train conductors, service staff) from among experienced personnel with good appearance, skills, and communication abilities, and especially those who can communicate in English. A unique uniform design is also created for this train crew.
The train carriage was re-boarded into walls and fitted with new bedding.
The train carriages have undergone renovations and upgrades to address issues that passengers have previously complained about, such as: the air conditioning system is designed with adjustable vents so passengers can customize the temperature and airflow to their needs; the restrooms are equipped with ceramic sanitary fixtures; and professional cleaning staff have been assigned...
On passenger carriages, the installation of new hot water heaters, ceramic sanitary ware in washbasins and toilets... creates a clean and luxurious feel.
For the dining cars, the railway has invested in completely renovating the interior so that passengers can comfortably enjoy coffee or meals on the train while admiring the natural scenery outside.
Ms. Nguyen Bich Van (Nam Ngu, Hanoi) shared that she usually travels by plane. For this trip to Da Nang, she decided to travel by train to experience it, and she was very happy to be on the newly launched train. “The train is much cleaner and nicer than before; the ticket price is reasonable. If traveling by train is more comfortable, the service quality is good, and the hygiene is guaranteed, I will choose to travel by train in the future,” Ms. Van said.
Two passengers from France said they were very pleased to take this train to Hue. Their initial impression was that it was clean and comfortable. They learned that there are many food and beverage services on board, and they will explore and experience them.
Regarding services, to enhance passenger convenience, the railway has implemented a sales app using QR code scanning on trains. Passengers wishing to order regional products from 34 provinces and cities, or products served on the train throughout their journey, can use their smartphones to scan the QR code to access the sales website link. On this site, passengers can freely choose their desired regional specialties to enjoy on the train or take home as gifts. The photo shows passengers enjoying the inaugural train journey.
Mr. Dang Sy Manh stated that, for the time being, the railway will maintain its current ticket prices to attract passengers, encouraging them to choose train travel, even though the journey time is slower than other means of transport, because it offers a more enjoyable and comfortable experience. In the long term, the railway will expand this train model to other routes. Simultaneously, it aims to develop trains like hotels, catering to the segment of customers who want to travel by train; the train will then become a place for rest and recreation after each day's sightseeing and travel before moving on to the next destination. The railway company also announced that, in parallel with upgrading equipment and improving service quality on trains, VIP waiting rooms will be put into operation at Hanoi Station and several other major stations starting from October 20th. Accordingly, passengers on trains SE19/SE20 and some other high-quality trains will be provided with waiting rooms and separate access to the station and boarding. In addition, home pick-up and drop-off services will continue to be implemented.
At 7:50 PM, the SE19 train departed from Hanoi station for Da Nang. In the photo, delegates wave goodbye, wishing the train a safe journey.
