The trip came after he attended a lavish pre-wedding party for Asia's richest man - the son of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani. Along with his girlfriend Paula Kalupa, Gates was among the global elite gathered at the grand event.
After the celebration, he will travel to Vietnam, a country he last visited in 2006, to conduct business activities related to the information technology sector. According to the schedule, the American billionaire will spend about 5 days in Da Nang and Hoi An, staying at a luxurious 5-star resort in Son Tra district.
A source said the famous billionaire secretly came to Vietnam by private jet Gulfstream G650ER - one of the world's fastest and longest-range commercial aircraft.
This (ultra) long-haul aircraft is powered by two Rolls-Royce BR725 engines, with a range of 7,500 nautical miles (13,890 km) and a speed of Mach 0.925, close to supersonic speed (Mach 1).
