Always passionate and hardworking, young teacher Tran Thi Huong Lan has achieved many proud achievements.

Looking back on the past, Ms. Tran Thi Huong Lan - Head of the English Department, Tran Hung Dao High School (Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City) - is very fond of the saying "the profession chooses the person". Letting the profession choose her, this 9X teacher has persistently improved her capacity. Huong Lan is also lucky because she has teachers who always trust and guide her.

Huong Lan was born in Ha Nam . When she was 8 years old, her family moved to Ho Chi Minh City. Her parents were busy making a living, so the three of them had to study by themselves. Looking around at all the excellent friends, Huong Lan used to doubt herself. When asked what she wanted to do when she grew up, the answer was just a silent bow. However, at that time, she had a special love for English. Her mother bought her a small cassette player, and she listened to English every day.

For Huong Lan, every challenge helps her become stronger, every success of her students is proof of the noble meaning of the teaching profession.

The big turning point was when she entered high school, Huong Lan applied to Tran Hung Dao School - which was newly established at that time, with the simple thought of wanting to change the environment to reduce pressure and make new friends. It was the right decision. Here, she was able to be herself more, boldly expressing herself.

Huong Lan will always remember the encouragement of her English teacher in grade 10 and the opportunities that the school created - such as participating in city-level competitions for excellent students or receiving scholarships. From there, she gradually got closer to the path she has today.

Huong Lan believes that there are still many memorable memories waiting ahead, on the path of sowing knowledge and personality for the young generation.

Passing the entrance exam to Ho Chi Minh City University of Education with an English score among the top in the department, for the first time, Huong Lan felt that she had something to be proud of. In her final year of university, Huong Lan returned to her old school for an internship and was enthusiastically guided. The girl who was once afraid of standing in front of a crowd now confidently stood on the podium. Passing the civil service exam, she returned to school as a teacher.

First prize in the City-level Excellent Teacher Competition (2022-2023) along with many other achievements and the success of students in major academic playgrounds have given Huong Lan more creative inspiration, enthusiasm to innovate teaching methods and bring good and effective lessons.

Not only does Huong Lan impart knowledge, she also hopes that her students will become loving and sharing people. She wholeheartedly encourages them to participate in meaningful activities, learn how to work in groups, organize booths at the school’s annual Spring Fair, manage finances and use all profits for charity.
