To support Vietnamese businesses to access the US and Canadian markets, Empowered Startups recently organized a workshop on “Expanding startups in the US and Canada”.
The event attracted more than 100 startups and organizations from various fields such as innovation, immigration law and policy consulting and many others. The conference also brought together experienced experts from government agencies, startup and immigration consulting organizations.

Attending the event were Empowered Startups Co-founder - Mr. Paul Girodo, President and General Counsel - Mr. Chris Lennon, Senior Trade Commissioner, Trade Representative of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City - Ms. Jasmin Wahhab and experts, consultants representing the EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) R&D program and the Canadian Startup Visa program.
Businesses interested in expanding or starting a business in the US or Canada will have the opportunity to participate in a direct dialogue with representatives from Empowered Startups, experts from US and Canadian government agencies and startup consulting organizations to answer their questions about investment policies and support for startups in the host markets. Participants will participate in a 1-1 consulting program with experts from Empowered Startups to be able to specify a roadmap suitable for their organization or unit.
Sharing about the startup potential of Vietnamese enterprises in Canada and the US, Mr. Paul Girodo expressed his positivity about the trend in 2024 and 2025: "With the context of the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and the US having been upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership; the relationship between Vietnam and Canada is very positive, more and more enterprises in Vietnam have the need to expand their business and start up in the international market. I look forward to continuing to cooperate with the Vietnamese business community, contributing to promoting the creative startup movement and forming a sustainable startup ecosystem between the Vietnamese and international markets".
