Hoa Phat sold 5 million tons of steel in the first half of the year

Hoa Phat Group recorded its hot-rolled coil (HRC) sales output exceeding 1.1 million tons for the first time in the second quarter, up 18% compared to the first quarter of 2025.

According to information from Hoa Phat Group, in the second quarter, Hoa Phat produced 2.5 million tons of crude steel, an increase of 10% compared to the same period in 2024 and equivalent to the first quarter of 2025.

Sales volume of hot-rolled coil (HRC), construction steel, high-quality steel, and steel billets reached 2.6 million tons, up 9% from the previous quarter and up 18% from the same period in 2024.

Specifically, hot-rolled steel coils recorded sales exceeding 1.1 million tons for the first time in a quarter, an 18% increase compared to the first quarter. Hoa Phat's production of construction steel and high-quality steel reached 1.3 million tons, a 7% increase compared to the previous period.

Hoa Phat's downstream HRC products such as galvanized steel sheets and steel pipes reached 110,000 tons and 216,000 tons respectively in the second quarter, a strong increase compared to the first quarter of the year.

For the first six months of the year, the group produced 5.1 million tons of crude steel, a 17% increase compared to the same period last year. Sales of HRC, construction steel, high-quality steel, and steel billets reached 5 million tons, a 23% increase compared to the first half of last year.

Of that total, hot-rolled steel coils contributed 2.2 million tons, a 42% increase. Construction steel and high-quality steel recorded 2.5 million tons, an 11% increase compared to the first six months of last year. With these results, Hoa Phat continues to hold the number one market share in Vietnam for construction steel, with a 38% share.

Hoa Phat Group announced that it is focusing intensely on completing and producing products from blast furnace No. 6, aiming to complete phase 2 of the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Production Complex project by September this year.

Upon completion, the group's total steel production will reach 16 million tons per year. This includes 8.5 million tons of hot-rolled steel coils, meeting 100% of the demand for this product in the Vietnamese market.
