Tuan Chau International Tourist Port has resumed operations to welcome tourists, with nearly 8,000 visitors during its three-day reopening period (September 13-16).

Perhaps, among the nearly 24 trillion VND in damages that Quang Ninh province estimated as of September 14th when reporting to the Government, accounting for more than half of the total national damage caused by Typhoon No. 3, the most severe impact was on marine economic activities. The typhoon caused severe damage to over 2,600 aquaculture facilities; 165 ships and vessels sank, including 27 tourist boats. The province's key tourist ports such as Tuan Chau, Ha Long, and Ao Tien suffered significant losses in terms of infrastructure and facilities, seriously affecting passenger reception and departure, transportation to islands, and tours of Ha Long Bay.

Mr. Dang Tuan Ha, Director of Tuan Chau International Cruise Port, said: "Although we proactively implemented preventative measures, the storm's intensity and duration caused extremely severe damage to the port's infrastructure and facilities. Recognizing its role as the gateway to Ha Long Bay and a crucial driving force for the early recovery of tourism after the storm, the port's staff temporarily set aside their busy family lives to prioritize restoring operations. 100% of the workforce was present immediately after Typhoon No. 3 passed to carry out cleanup and temporary repairs; provide support and rescue; and work with cruise ships and tour operators to immediately implement activities to welcome tourists, committing to ensuring the best possible conditions. In the three days of reopening (from September 13th to 16th), Tuan Chau International Cruise Port welcomed nearly 8,000 visitors."

Officials and staff at Ha Long International Cruise Port are cleaning up the environment and inspecting and reviewing all infrastructure to welcome tourists from September 13th.

The Ha Long International Cruise Port also conducted a thorough inspection and review of its infrastructure after the storm, assessing safety measures and resuming tourist arrivals from September 13th. After three days, the port had received over 7,000 tourists visiting Ha Long Bay. Tourism and service activities have largely recovered to pre-storm levels.

At Ao Tien Port (Van Don), to meet the transportation needs of people and tourists traveling to the islands, immediately after the storm, the port contacted large ships with high wave-breaking capabilities to participate in transportation activities. Although the number of tourists to the islands at this time is not large, people's travel has been very convenient. Shipments of essential goods and supplies for post-storm recovery are leaving the port in succession to Co To, Minh Chau, Quan Lan... These are the "frontline" areas, which received the storm first and suffered significant damage. Currently, post-storm recovery work is still continuing, but tourist reception at the port has returned to normal with the best and safest conditions.

Ao Tien Port (Van Don) has deployed large, high-performance vessels capable of withstanding rough seas to participate in transporting people and goods starting from September 9th.

To understand the situation, encourage and listen to the thoughts and aspirations of the people and businesses in the tourism sector, and to express the province's concern for this key economic sector, immediately after the storm, the Provincial People's Committee directly met with and implemented many solutions to support businesses in recovering from the storm. In the context of disrupted telecommunications networks, which hampered coordination efforts, the province's top leaders were present at most hotspots to support people and businesses in recovering from the storm; and directed campaigns to clean up the city and the bay…

Beautiful and humane images, practical actions, and timely and effective motivational solutions, coupled with the spirit of "Discipline and Unity," self-reliance, and resilience in overcoming difficulties... the entire provincial government system, along with businesses and the people, have seized every hour, even every minute, to quickly restore production and business activities. This is an effective solution to compensate for the damage caused by the storm, ensuring the sustainability of economic sectors, including tourism .
