Hanoi students won 6 medals at the 2024 International Junior Science Olympiad

All six Hanoi students, representing Vietnamese students attending the 2024 International Junior Science Olympiad, won medals.


On the evening of December 11, the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the 2024 International Junior Science Olympiad took place in Romania. All 6 Hanoi students, representing Vietnamese students participating in this competition, excellently won medals, including 5 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze Medal.

Of which, 5 students won Silver Medals including: Le Tung Lam, Le Gia Hong Minh, Nguyen Ngoc Que Chi (Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted), Vuong Ha Chi, Vu Nhat Long (Newton Secondary - High School).

The remaining member of the Bronze Medal winning team is Nguyen Thanh Nhan (Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted).

This year’s International Junior Science Olympiad was held in Romania with the participation of more than 300 students from 52 countries and territories. Vietnamese students have participated in this competition 14 times.

Students take the natural science exam in 3 subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology. For each subject, students must take 3 exams including: Objective test on general knowledge; theoretical exam with requirements on skills of synthesis, analysis, autonomy, problem solving, calculation, science, creativity; practical exam with skills in using modern tools and machines.
