Responding to information that Dang Tran Con High School required teachers and students to perform cleaning duties if they did not attend a paid camp at a tourist resort, on the afternoon of March 27, a representative from the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Department of Education and Training stated that the school's practice of dividing students into groups for outdoor activities and labor was unscientific, inconsistent with educational goals, and likely to lead to problems and public controversy.

Therefore, the Thua Thien Hue Department of Education and Training requested the school to adjust its plan accordingly, ensuring the organization of the school's general educational activities. "The Department criticized and requested the principal of Dang Tran Con High School to seriously learn from this experience in the management, development, and implementation of educational plans," the representative said.

The Department of Education and Training of Thua Thien Hue province also reminded and directed all schools throughout the province to learn from the incident that occurred at Dang Tran Con High School.

Previously, many parents with children attending Dang Tran Con High School expressed their frustration, complaining that the school required students who did not participate in the paid camp at the tourist resort to work on campus.

To celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Dang Tran Con High School has developed a plan to organize activities in two forms: a field trip combined with a camp at an eco-tourism and historical site, and a cleaning and sanitation activity at the school (for students not participating in the camp).

The school organized a camp and a cleanup activity on the same day, March 28th and 29th. Teachers and students who did not participate in the camp were asked to clean the moss from the fences around the school. "For areas that were not cleaned, students will have to make up for it by doing the cleanup on another day," the school announced.

Parents argue that the camp is a recreational activity and therefore students should not be forced to participate. Among the students who did not register for the camp were those with family commitments, but also those facing financial difficulties and lacking the funds to contribute.

According to the announcement, each student participating in the camp had to pay 350,000 VND, including 180,000 VND for the entrance fee to the tourist area and 170,000 VND for food and drinks. More than 100 students did not register to participate in this activity.
