According to Mr. Tran The Cuong, in the coming days, Hanoi will hold a parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2.
Before that, on August 21 and 24, there will be the first and second practice sessions and a preliminary rehearsal on August 27. During those days, the authorities have announced a complete ban and restriction on traffic on some routes. Along with that, there will be a large number of visitors to Hanoi during the holidays, which can easily cause congestion and traffic difficulties on inner-city routes.
Therefore, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will allow preschool, primary, secondary and high school students in inner-city schools to take a day off to ensure traffic during the rehearsal and rehearsal for the parade.

Specifically, the first training session will take place at 8:00 p.m. on August 21 (Thursday).
The second round of practice takes place at 8:00 p.m. on August 24 (Sunday).
The rehearsal of the celebration will take place at 8:00 p.m. on August 27 (Wednesday).
The rehearsal of the celebration took place at 6:30 a.m. on August 30 (Saturday).
To ensure security, safety, and smooth traffic in the City during the time of joint training, preliminary rehearsal, general rehearsal of the anniversary ceremony, parade, and march, the Department of Education and Training requests the Chairmen of the People's Committees of wards and communes to direct schools to close on the above-mentioned days (except Saturday and Sunday, which are closed according to regulations).
Schools that are closed this time are in the following districts: Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, Hai Ba Trung, Cau Giay, Tay Ho, Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Hoang Mai, Thanh Xuan, Long Bien, Ha Dong.

Inner-city schools let students off and open for residents and tourists to rest.
"Schools must notify parents to coordinate management, teachers still go to school to prepare conditions for the new school year," the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requested.
In addition, schools and educational institutions in other wards and communes, based on actual conditions, the school principal shall consider and decide on allowing students to take time off from school during the time of joint training, preliminary rehearsal, general rehearsal of the anniversary ceremony, military parade, and march.
Hanoi requires schools in areas where parades and processions pass by to open their doors to serve people and tourists to stop, rest, and use personal hygiene... ensuring respect and hospitality.
In the 2025-2026 school year, Hanoi will have more than 2,900 schools with more than 2.3 million preschool and primary school students, an increase of about 60,000 compared to last year.
According to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training , on September 5, students nationwide will start the new school year. Students in grades 1, 9 and 12 will return to school on August 22 to have time to get acquainted with the school, the remaining grades will return to school on August 29. Private schools will return to school 4 weeks earlier, so many schools have welcomed students since August 1.
