Sharing her thoughts on the opportunities presented by the fair, Ms. Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Nong province, emphasized that this event is of great importance, providing businesses in the Central Highlands region with opportunities to connect, promote, introduce their products, and expand their markets. It serves as a platform to support businesses, cooperatives, and production facilities in the region in joint ventures, partnerships, and seeking opportunities for trade and investment cooperation.
The Central Highlands - Dak Nong 2023 Trade Fair is part of the 2023 National Trade Promotion Program directed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the People's Committee of Dak Nong province. At the fair, businesses and organizations have the opportunity to promote their brands, introduce products, seek partners, expand their markets, access the neighboring Cambodian market, and develop trade with other ASEAN countries.
In recent times, to promote trade development in the province, the Dak Nong Department of Industry and Trade has advised and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee the implementation of many trade promotion programs. Accordingly, the National Trade Promotion Program for 2023 has been approved with a budget of 1,000 million VND to implement the Project to organize the Central Highlands - Dak Nong 2023 Industry and Trade Fair, from June 30, 2023 to July 5, 2023 in Gia Nghia city, Dak Nong province.
In addition, the Local Trade Promotion Plan for 2023 was approved with a total budget of 750 million VND from the local budget to implement 5 projects. To date, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion has completed 2 projects: organizing delegations to participate in trade fairs in the Central Highlands provinces and cities; and organizing delegations to participate in trade fairs in the northern provinces.
As a result, at the trade fairs, four businesses signed agreements with four partners to sell cocoa, macadamia, and cashew products. For the remaining three projects, the Center is developing detailed plans to coordinate with relevant agencies and organizations for implementation.
The Department of Industry and Trade also announced and encouraged manufacturing and business enterprises in Dak Nong province to register to participate in trade connection conferences and trade fairs both domestically and internationally. At the same time, it organized a delegation of provincial businesses to participate in a trade fair and exhibition in Mondulkiri province, Cambodia, from April 14th to April 17th, 2023, in Sen Monorom city, Mondulkiri province, Cambodia.
Thanks to these solutions, the total retail sales of goods and services in the province during the first six months of 2023 are estimated at VND 11,550 billion, an increase of 18.6% compared to the same period in 2022, reaching 54.38% of the 2023 plan (VND 21,241 billion).
