Social feedback conference on draft regulations on compensation, support and resettlement

The draft regulations consist of 4 chapters and 27 articles, covering 5 articles and clauses of the 2024 Land Law and 16 articles and clauses of Government Decree 88/2024/ND-CP on compensation, support, and resettlement when the State recovers land. The development and promulgation of these regulations is of significant importance, ensuring the timely, synchronized, unified, effective, and efficient implementation of the 2024 Land Law and Government Decree 88/2024/ND-CP, meeting the needs and aspirations of the people, and serving the goals of socio-economic development in land management and use.

Comrade Le Van Binh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee spoke at the conference.

At the conference, delegates unanimously agreed on the necessity and urgency of issuing the regulations; at the same time, they offered opinions and critiques on several issues related to policies, compensation and resettlement support levels suitable for different groups and the practical realities of each region and locality; calculations to ensure the rights of people whose land is confiscated; handling of remaining land after confiscation; and the need to ensure the stability and long-term viability of the regulations once issued…

In his concluding remarks at the conference, the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province acknowledged and highly appreciated the rich and high-quality contributions and opinions from the delegates, as well as the meticulous preparation of the draft by the drafting agency. Based on this, he requested the drafting agency to incorporate and select the opinions to supplement and refine the draft to ensure its quality; and to pay attention to the dissemination and promotion of regulations and policies on compensation, support, and resettlement so that the people and society understand them clearly, aiming to ensure that people's living standards are equal to or better than before land acquisition.
