Propaganda conference on border management for 10 provinces bordering Laos

On October 16th, in Tam Ky city ( Quang Nam province), the Central Propaganda Department, in coordination with the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Border Guard Command, organized the "Conference on Propaganda regarding the Management of the Vietnam-Laos Land Border" for 10 provinces: Dien Bien, Son La, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, and Kon Tum.

The conference on disseminating information about land border management between Vietnam and Laos was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ; the Central Propaganda Department, along with nearly 250 delegates including leaders and key officials from departments, agencies, and armed forces of 10 provinces bordering Laos.

At the conference, delegates heard a thematic report by Nguyen Minh Vu, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, on border and territorial issues that have made practical contributions to national construction and defense along the Vietnam-Laos border.

In addition, the conference also discussed experiences in handling issues arising in national border management along the Vietnam-Laos land border; and directions for developing land border trade between Vietnam and Laos.

Also at the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Vu Thanh Mai affirmed that Vietnam and Laos are two close neighboring countries with a special friendship that has been closely intertwined throughout the history of nation-building and national defense of the two peoples, both steadfastly pursuing the goals of national independence and socialism. In recent years, the border situation between the two countries has been maintained and ensured stability.

Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Vu Thanh Mai emphasized that all levels, sectors, and localities in border areas need to continue to innovate and diversify the content and forms of propaganda, strengthen the application of information technology and digital transformation, focus on propaganda in the languages ​​of ethnic groups living in border areas, and conduct external propaganda on land border affairs.

At the same time, innovate the methods of participating in building a strong, comprehensive, and in-depth border, especially in understanding the local situation; promote the mass movement to protect the border and boundary markers. Further build upon the positive results achieved in implementing tasks, ensuring close, timely, multi-faceted, and comprehensive coordination among forces in propaganda and education work.
