As part of the activities of the Dinh Thầy Thím Cultural and Tourism Festival, a traditional cake-making competition was held enthusiastically in the grounds of the Dinh historical site.
According to annual tradition, on the anniversary of the death of Teacher Thim, members of the Tam Quy Association express their reverence for the deity worshipped. Each branch maintains the practice of making a traditional cake to offer to Teacher Thim. These cakes, made with the skillful and meticulous hands of each member, will be offered to Teacher Thim during this year's Autumn Festival.
This competition involved 28 members divided into 7 teams from 7 branches, who competed in wrapping traditional Vietnamese cakes. Each branch prepared its own ingredients and decorations for a finished cake platter, consisting of 4 banh chung (square sticky rice cakes), 4 banh tet (cylindrical sticky rice cakes), and 15 banh it (small sticky rice cakes).
The competition brought a joyful and exciting atmosphere to the people and tourists attending the festival. Through the competition, the members demonstrated their skills, team spirit, and contributed to the vibrant atmosphere of this year's festival.
