The 11th art exchange program "Towards the borders, seas and islands of the Fatherland" in 2024 includes musical performances with songs and melodies about the seas and islands, about love for the homeland performed by professional singers, artists and soldiers of the border guards and the Navy.
The program also brings true images of the daily life of officers, soldiers and people in the border and island areas of the Fatherland, who are day and night sticking to the sea and islands, firmly holding their guns to protect the sacred sovereignty of the country.
At the same time, this is an opportunity to report to the people of the City about the works and tasks of profound human significance that the Management Board of the Fund "For the homeland's seas and islands - For the frontline of the Fatherland" of Ho Chi Minh City has been, is and will be implementing, such as the programs "For green Truong Sa", "Warm home for soldiers and poor people in the border area", "Border light", National Day for National Security Protection, National Defense Day, etc. Thereby affirming the sentiment, responsibility and trust of the people of the whole country and Ho Chi Minh City towards the sea and islands; encouraging cadres, soldiers and people to feel secure in living, working, and maintaining sovereignty over the sea and islands.
Participating in contributing to the Fund, Venerable Thich Nu Tu Nhan - Deputy Head of the Central Nuns' Division, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Nuns' Division shared: "Without those who protect the country's borders, how can we increase production? Therefore, monks and nuns must also have a duty to their homeland, especially their sea and islands, which must always be protected. Monks and nuns are the same as those in the world, all must be responsible for their homeland's sea and islands, have a spirit of support with the State to have a gift of love for the cadres and soldiers who are protecting the homeland so that they can study and practice in peace".
Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Vice Chairman of the City Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Fund Management Board, said that not only mobilizing resources for the Fund "For the homeland's sea and islands - For the frontline of the Fatherland", but this is also a vivid form of propaganda, contributing to consolidating and raising awareness of cadres, party members, union members, association members and people of the city about the position and role of Vietnam's borders, seas and islands in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. At the same time, encouraging and motivating people at home and abroad to actively respond to activities towards the borders, seas and islands.
On this occasion, the program introduced the results of outstanding activities over the past 15 years of the Fund "For the homeland's seas and islands - For the frontline of the Fatherland" in Ho Chi Minh City; exchanged with officers, soldiers of the navy, border guards and people about activities towards the borders, seas and islands of the Fatherland, propaganda work towards the borders, seas and islands of political and social organizations in districts, towns and Thu Duc city.
From 2013 to 2024, through the art exchange program "Towards the borders, seas and islands of the Fatherland", the Fund "For the homeland's seas and islands - For the frontline of the Fatherland" of Ho Chi Minh City received more than 515 billion VND in support and spent more than 470 billion VND on activities to care for officers, soldiers and people on duty and living in the borders, seas and islands of the homeland.
