(CLO) Hong Kong (China) authorities recently announced that an organization in the special administrative region operated a prostitution ring through social media platforms, promoting Japanese adult film actresses to attract customers.
More than 30 people, including Japanese adult film actresses, have been arrested by Hong Kong and Singapore police in a crackdown on an international prostitution ring. According to police, these services cost up to HK$150,000 (US$19,270) per sexual encounter.

This network used provocative images and adult film covers as marketing tools, with prices ranging from a few thousand to tens of thousands of Hong Kong dollars. Notably, the actresses also participated in client meetings in Hong Kong, where they charged up to HK$150,000 per sexual encounter, according to police information.
Customers are instructed to make deposits via social media. After receiving the money, the ringleaders arrange meetings in hotel rooms. The organizing group keeps 50% of the money collected from each transaction.
Police also said that some of those arrested were Hong Kong residents who had studied in Japan. These individuals were fluent in Japanese and assisted in connecting with Japanese actors.
The case has uncovered a large-scale prostitution ring that used famous adult film actors as promotional tools. This operation is part of an effort by Hong Kong and Singapore police forces to dismantle organized crime, particularly those involved in transnational prostitution.
Authorities are currently continuing their investigation to identify additional individuals involved and the source of funding for this organization.
