Tri Ton is a mountainous, border district in An Giang province with a large Khmer ethnic minority population. It also has the highest rate of poverty and near-poverty in the province. Therefore, the general level of education here is low, and some parents, due to difficult circumstances, do not have the resources to fully support their children's education. The dropout rate in the district is even higher than in other areas of An Giang province.

Therefore, the District Association for the Promotion of Learning always pays attention to and promotes social mobilization in caring for and encouraging learning and talent, building a learning society to help students receive education, improve their skills, and prevent them from dropping out of school prematurely.

The association has demonstrated flexibility and creativity in its fundraising efforts, achieving effective results. The fund is used to provide scholarships to underprivileged, academically gifted, and outstanding students; and to distribute "Continuing the Journey to School" gifts to students from poor and near-poor households, facilitating their access to education and higher learning.

According to Neáng Kim Cheng, Chairman of the Tri Tôn District Association for the Promotion of Learning, from the beginning of 2024 to the present, the association has raised over 2.3 billion VND for the scholarship and talent promotion fund, through which it has supported nearly 6,000 scholarships and gifts to help students continue their education, with a total cost of over 2.2 billion VND. In addition, the associations at the commune and town levels have mobilized nearly 4.5 billion VND, providing support for more than 16,000 gifts and scholarships.

Furthermore, the Tri Ton District Association for the Promotion of Learning has also initiated the "Piggy Bank" movement – a form of saving for students in schools throughout the district. The significance of this movement lies in the spirit of sharing and helping friends overcome difficulties, and together moving forward on the path to conquering literacy.

Students in each class voluntarily use their savings to feed the pigs. The money collected is used to help underprivileged students in the same class and school to continue their education.

Wishing for children to continue their education and improve their skills, the Tri Ton District Association for the Promotion of Learning launched a movement to build and develop learning families. Thanks to the consensus of the community, the number of families registering to achieve the title of "Learning Family" has increased significantly.

According to Neáng Kim Cheng, Chairman of the Tri Tôn District Association for the Promotion of Learning, in the coming time, the Association will continue to coordinate with many organizations and social forces to participate in activities promoting learning and talent, and building an increasingly developed learning society.

In addition, the association will promote the lifelong learning movement of "Learning Families," "Learning Clans," "Learning Communities," and "Learning Units" to a significant step forward, contributing to the building of a learning society.

The Tri Ton District Association for the Promotion of Learning has set forth the motto of linking the work of promoting learning with fundamental and comprehensive educational reform and the "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" movement. Based on this, it continues to mobilize funds to meet and exceed targets, helping children receive education, improve their skills, and prevent them from dropping out of school prematurely.

Dong Nai province collects billions of dong from the piggy bank fundraising campaign for scholarships . Thousands of disadvantaged students in Dong Nai receive support from the scholarship fund. Notably, the piggy bank fundraising campaign for scholarships has flourished in this area.
