Passengers increased sharply after Tet, railways added many new trains

Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said that the railway will continue to operate additional Thong Nhat and Hai Phong trains to meet the increased travel demand of people after the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday.

The railway runs additional trains between Thong Nhat and Hai Phong to meet people's travel needs after Tet holiday.

Specifically, on the Thong Nhat route, from February 20 to February 26, 2024, there will be an additional train SE23 departing from Hanoi station at 8:20 p.m. and arriving at Saigon station at 11:05 a.m.

In the opposite direction, train SE24 will depart from Saigon station on February 22, 23, and 24, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. and arrive at Hanoi station at 11:15 a.m.

The highest through-trip ticket price on these two trains (4-berth sleeper) is about 1,460,000 VND/ticket/trip; the lowest ticket price (soft seat) is about more than 900,000 VND/ticket/trip.

Hai Phong - Hanoi route, on February 25, will run an additional train LP10 departing from Hai Phong station at 4:20 p.m., arriving at Hanoi station at 7:03 p.m., ticket price is about 120,000 VND/ticket/trip; run an additional train HD2 departing from Hai Duong station at 4:30 p.m., arriving at Hanoi station at 6:05 p.m., ticket price is about 80,000 VND/ticket/trip.

Currently, the railway is applying many preferential policies to support train passengers: Discounts for social policy beneficiaries, union members, passengers with customer cards; 5% discount on return tickets for passengers buying round-trip tickets. In particular, students will receive a discount of 10% to 20% on tickets depending on the day of travel.
