On the night of January 5th, the center of Ho Chi Minh City became a "sea of people" as hundreds of thousands of fans flocked to District 1 and District 3 to celebrate the Vietnamese national team's victory in the 2024 AFF Cup.

Blending in with the crowd at the intersection of Nguyen Thai Hoc and Tran Hung Dao streets (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), Luke Forrester (25 years old, from England) felt lucky to be in Vietnam on vacation right when the football match between Vietnam and Thailand was taking place.
He revealed that he had supported the Vietnamese team from the beginning and believed in their abilities, but when Vietnam won, the enthusiastic support of the Vietnamese people still surprised him.

Luke Forrester and his friends wore Vietnamese national team jerseys and continuously waved the red flag with a yellow star. Not only that, he also happily high-fived passersby. "Everyone was cheering, clapping, and waving flags all over the streets, which made me feel emotional too," he shared.
"Not just football fans, but almost the entire country took to the streets to celebrate. I've never seen anything like this before. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing!" Luke expressed.
Meanwhile, Chiara Petre, a German tourist visiting Vietnam for the first time, watched a football match on Bui Vien pedestrian street. He said he was very excited by the lively atmosphere and the spirit of sports support in Vietnam.
