Opening of Chi Linh Festival

Chi Linh - Hai Duong Festival 2023.

Attending the event were Comrade Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front ; Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee; representatives of leaders from central ministries and agencies; leaders of several provinces and cities; more than 1,200 invited delegates; a large number of tourists from all over the country and people of Chi Linh city.

At the opening ceremony, a special art program themed "The Quintessence of Convergence - Aspirations to Shine" featured 300 artists and performers showcasing unique and newly composed songs about Chi Linh, Hai Duong. The performances by the Vietnam Lion Dance Federation from 10 provinces and cities presented captivating and spectacular acts, creating an extremely vibrant atmosphere that reflected the energetic spirit of this land rich in aspirations.

The opening ceremony of the Chi Linh - Hai Duong Festival 2023 was also a gathering place for cultural exchange, featuring traditional folk songs such as "hat van," "hat then," "hat soong co," "hat quan ho," and "khaen dance" performed by artists and people from various ethnic groups from northern provinces and cities. The opening ceremony included a low-altitude fireworks display, rotating fireworks, paragliding, and large hot air balloons, creating a special impression and kicking off a festival full of unique, attractive, and novel elements.

With the theme "The Convergence of Excellence - Aspiration for Brilliance," the activities at the Festival introduce and promote the socio-economic development achievements, historical and cultural values, beliefs, famous figures, tourist destinations, potential, unique advantages, and development strategies of Chi Linh city and Hai Duong province; enhance the cultural and spiritual life of the people and tourists, contribute to the socio-economic development of the city and Hai Duong province; and preserve and promote the cultural heritage values of the nation.

This is a major cultural and tourism festival of Chi Linh city and Hai Duong province, organized into a series of events. Besides the opening ceremony, there are: the Mid-Autumn Festival Night program with the theme "Lanterns illuminating the dreams of children in Chi Linh - Hai Duong"; the Festival of the practice of the Mother Goddess worship of the Three Realms at the National Monument of Mau Sinh Temple - Thanh Hoa Temple; a program of mass performances and exchanges of folk dances and sports dances; exhibition and introduction of OCOP products, typical handicrafts and ornamental plants; organization of folk games and a Vietnamese Mid-Autumn experience space for children...

To prepare for the Festival, Chi Linh city had previously installed more than 750 billboards, 8,000 red flags, 3,000 festival flags, 1,100 pennants, 200 banners, 9,500 lanterns, 20 clusters of promotional symbols, and several large electronic display boards. These symbolic clusters and autumn flower floats were erected as check-in points for tourists at Con Son Reef, Sao Do Square, and in Pha Lai, Dong Lac, and Hoang Tan wards.

The communes and wards in the city have propagated and guided the people to clean alleyways, historical sites, and public playgrounds, hang national flags, string flags, pennants, and string colorful lights… creating the best conditions for the city's largest cultural and tourism festival to be a resounding success.
