Opening of Me Linh Flower Festival 2024

VHO - On the evening of December 26th, the People's Committee of Me Linh District, Hanoi City, held the opening ceremony of the 2nd Me Linh Flower Festival – 2024 with the theme "Me Linh: Ablaze with Flowers". Member of the Politburo , Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai; and Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh attended the ceremony.

Following the success of the first Flower Festival, which attracted over 100,000 visitors, this year's festival is being held at the central administrative square of the district, covering an area of ​​nearly 10,000 square meters. Alongside this is a trade fair promoting local tourism and culture.

The artisans arranged and designed the flower festival according to themes with 10 main modules and 8 miniature scenes decorated with flowers from the Me Linh area itself; combined with lighting technology, creating a space that is both modern and poetic, and vibrant with color.

Speaking at the ceremony, District Party Secretary Bui Thanh Liem said that Me Linh District considers this a large-scale cultural, tourism, and trade promotion event of significant importance in stimulating the consumption of flowers and agricultural products; contributing to improving the income and living standards of the people.

This will make the Me Linh Flower Festival a popular destination for tourists, while also affirming Me Linh's spirit of innovation, creativity, and aspiration for strong breakthroughs in the new era: "the era of national progress."

The opening ceremony space of the Festival was filled with the colors and fragrances of flowers, along with vibrant sound, dazzling light shows, and colorful fireworks displays that captivated every local resident and tourist.

The opening ceremony, featuring performances by singers Hoa Minzy, Duc Phuc, and Dinh Manh Ninh, added vibrancy and energy to the event.

Besides displaying and introducing various types of flowers, the Festival also features many meaningful community activities such as: a competition to decorate bicycles with flowers made from recycled materials; a painting competition; creating giant flower-based collages; English festival activities for students; a fashion show of traditional Vietnamese dresses (áo dài) with the theme "Me Linh, resplendent with flowers"; special cultural performances by various sectors and organizations; and vibrant performances by street bands and circus artists…

One of the key objectives of the Me Linh Flower Festival is to preserve and promote the values ​​of the local flower-growing craft. Through the Festival, people have the opportunity to showcase their distinctive flower products and unique flower-growing techniques, contributing to the promotion of the Me Linh flower brand to friends both domestically and internationally. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for artisans and gardeners to exchange experiences, learn from each other, and improve product quality.

Taking place from December 26th to 29th, the 2nd Me Linh Flower Festival in 2024 affirms Me Linh's position as an attractive tourist destination, a land rich in cultural traditions and development potential.
