Opening of the exhibition "Huynh Phuong Dong's Journey" at the Ho Chi Minh City Exhibition Hall

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Indochina College of Fine Arts (1925 - 2025), and the 100th anniversary of the birth of artist Huynh Phuong Dong (1925 - 2025), Ho Chi Minh City Museum in collaboration with the family of the late artist Huynh Phuong Dong and SANN - The House of Art organized the exhibition "Huynh Phuong Dong's Journey" at the Ho Chi Minh City Exhibition Hall.

The exhibition introduces to the public the typical works of artist Huynh Phuong Dong from landscape sketches, portraits of cadres, soldiers, guerrillas during wartime, scenes of major battles such as Binh Gia Campaign, La Nga... to landscape paintings of peacetime, building the country, images of people in war, through war, returning to daily life. Besides that are creative trips along the length of the country and trips to many countries around the world .

Ms. Le Thi Thu, wife of painter Huynh Phuong Dong, spoke at the opening ceremony.

The exhibition “Huynh Phuong Dong’s Journey” not only helps the public understand more about the life and career of the late artist, but also brings touching historical stories, realistically depicting famous generals, artists, intellectuals as well as ordinary people who made history. The characters in his paintings are diverse in perspective, showing a journey from wartime to peacetime, recording meaningful everyday moments.
