Speaking at the event, Ms. Ly Kim Chi, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Food and Beverage Association, said: The food and beverage industry in Ho Chi Minh City plays a crucial role in the city's economic development, accounting for approximately 20% of the total industrial production value.

In particular, Ho Chi Minh City's food products not only serve domestic consumption needs but also reach out to the world, conquering demanding international markets such as Europe (EU), the United States, and Japan.

According to Ms. Ly Kim Chi, in 2024 the food industry faced numerous challenges from the global market, but at the same time, it also opened up many great opportunities. New consumer trends such as green food, alternative products, and high demands for traceability have set out a new and promising development path for Vietnam's food industry.

"Events like today's Exhibition Week serve as a platform for businesses not only to showcase their products but also to connect, grasp trends, and build sustainable development strategies," Ms. Ly Kim Chi expressed her expectations.

From the perspective of the coordinating organization, Mr. Tran Phu Lu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Investment Promotion Center, also stated that the food and beverage industry is one of the four key industries prioritized for development in Ho Chi Minh City, accounting for 14-15% of the total industrial production value. The city's food and beverage industry has gradually shifted towards in-depth development, with many high-quality products and reputable brands dominating the domestic market, gradually replacing imported goods, and exporting to many countries around the world.

To further boost the food processing industry, Ho Chi Minh City issued Decision No. 4700/QD-UBND dated October 23, 2024, approving the Strategy for the Development of the Food Processing Industry in Ho Chi Minh City until 2030, with a vision to 2050; along with the Plan for implementing Decision No. 165/QD-TTg dated February 28, 2023, of the Prime Minister on the Restructuring Scheme for the Industry and Trade Sector until 2030. These policies and decisions serve as the basis for accelerating the development of the food processing industry and expanding domestic production scale.

Emphasizing its role as the focal agency for trade and investment promotion activities under the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Mr. Tran Phu Lu stated that the ITPC Center will continue to coordinate with city departments and agencies, diplomatic agencies, foreign trade promotion organizations, city business associations, domestic industry associations, and relevant units to implement support programs for businesses in Ho Chi Minh City. This includes updating the latest information on export markets, introducing products, connecting trade, and expanding domestic and export markets. In particular, it will support city businesses in participating in global supply chains and value chains.

According to reporters, the products selected by businesses for display at the exhibition week were high-quality products with attractive designs, competitive prices, and compliance with export standards and food safety and hygiene regulations. Each product displayed and introduced at the event represents the culmination of efforts to improve, apply technology, and innovate in production, reflecting the green, clean, organic, and environmentally friendly trend. This affirms their ability to meet the increasingly demanding consumer trends globally.

In particular, in the central area, visitors can admire typical Tet (Lunar New Year) products and meaningful gift packages. Opposite the central area, LED screens display prominent brands, making it easy for visitors, partners, and international buyers to access information and images of typical products. The scale and layout of the display aim to create an open space for businesses to easily network and exchange experiences.
