Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Bui Hoa An, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, stated that tourism and waterway transport are identified as characteristics of Ho Chi Minh City. He added that the inauguration of the high-speed ferry route from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao will enhance connectivity with provinces in the Southeast region.
High-speed ferry with over 1,000 seats launched, taking only 4 hours to travel from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao.
At the same time, it provides people with more options when traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao - an attractive tourist destination with beautiful beaches, pristine natural scenery, and sacred historical relics associated with the heroic struggle of our nation for independence, freedom, and national reunification.
According to Mr. An, there are currently two transportation options for tourists traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao. One is by air (taking approximately 50 minutes), and the other is by car and speedboat from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau and Con Dao.
Mr. Vu Van Khuong, Deputy General Director of Phu Quoc High-Speed Ferry Joint Stock Company (the investor), affirmed that from now on, people can directly travel from Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port to Con Dao in about 4 hours.
"It can be said that this will be a new option, providing a travel experience for locals and tourists with a waterway route from Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port in Nha Be district, through the Soai Rap channel - Dong Tranh bay - East Sea to Ben Dam port in Con Dao. We hope to join hands in connecting the region, developing socio-economic and tourism aspects," Mr. Khuong said.



The ship can operate in windy conditions with gusts up to level 8 while maintaining high stability, reducing seasickness, and ensuring the safety of passengers on the voyage.
There is a shuttle bus service for the high-speed ferry from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao.
The high-speed ferry from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao, named Thang Long, is 77.46 meters long, 9.49 meters wide, has a capacity of up to 1,017 people, and a speed of up to 35 nautical miles per hour. In addition, the ship is equipped with many modern amenities, ensuring the highest standards of maritime safety systems worldwide. The entire journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao takes approximately 4 hours, while the journey from Vung Tau to Con Dao takes over 3 hours.
Regarding ticket prices, the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route has fares ranging from 615,000 to 1,100,000 VND per trip, depending on the passenger category, ticket class, and departure time. Initially, the company will arrange shuttle buses from 23/9 Park, departing between 5:00 and 5:20 AM, traveling to Saigon Port - Hiep Phuoc.
