According to the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in Vietnam, Seoraksan Mountain in Seorakan National Park, Gangwon Province, is the first place in Korea to see autumn foliage turn yellow. The leaves begin to change color from September 29th, and the peak time for the golden and red leaves is in late October and early November.
Additionally, visitors can visit Bukhansan Mountain in the heart of Seoul; Jirisan Mountain in the national park of the same name, spanning three provinces: Jeollanam-do, Jeollabuk-do, and Gyeongsangnam-do; and Naejangsan Mountain in Naejangsan National Park, located in Jeollabuk-do and Jeollanam-do. The peak autumn foliage seasons at these three locations are October 28th, October 23rd, and November 5th, respectively.
In Seoul, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seoul Forest, Olympic Park, and Maeheon Forest are some of the best places to see the autumn foliage this year. For those seeking new experiences outside of Seoul, consider visiting Hwadam Botanical Garden on Nami Island, Bobaljae Pass in Danyang, or Hongcheon Ginkgo Forest. These are ideal destinations for viewing the "golden autumn."
