First time honoring young faces in the field of social sciences and humanities

NDO - From now on, the Award will be considered and awarded every two years to honor outstanding young Vietnamese talents in the field of social sciences and humanities.

On the evening of November 22, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held the first Khue Van Cac Award Ceremony in 2024. From now on, the Award will be considered and awarded every two years, to honor outstanding young Vietnamese talents in the field of social sciences and humanities, creating motivation to promote the emulation movement of studying, scientific research, and applying achievements in this field.

Launched on July 10, after 2 months of launching, the Central Youth Union received 55 nominations from 31 agencies, units, universities, academies, research institutes nationwide and the Youth Union Executive Committee abroad.

Through many rounds of careful selection, the Central Youth Union has found 9 outstanding faces to present the first Khue Van Cac Award. Among them, there is 1 individual working in the field of law; 1 individual working in the field of education; 2 individuals working in the field of economics; 1 individual working in the field of culture - art; 2 individuals working in the field of philosophy - political science - sociology; 2 individuals working in the field of history - archeology - ethnology - anthropology.

Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Student Association Nguyen Minh Triet presented awards to promising scientists of the Award.

The Central Youth Union Secretariat has decided to award each individual: “Creative Youth” badge, certificate, Award logo and cash prize of 5 million VND. In addition, the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund through the Award Organizing Committee has also awarded each young scientist 10 million VND.

Previously, within the framework of the Award, young scientists offered flowers to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh; attended a meeting with Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan; and participated in the Discussion: "Developing a team of young Vietnamese scientists in the field of social sciences and humanities in the digital age".

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Student Association Nguyen Minh Triet said that the evaluation and awarding process was carried out strictly, scientifically, publicly and transparently. The selection criteria were specifically quantified, ensuring standards for scientific publication, closely following the practice of social sciences and humanities, comprehensively evaluating scientists in terms of both scientific achievements and spirit of dedication to the community.

According to comrade Nguyen Minh Triet, the establishment of Khue Van Cac Award not only demonstrates the expectation and trust of the Party, State and the whole society in the community of young scientists in the field of social sciences and humanities in Vietnam; but also the great concern of the Central Youth Union in meeting the needs, aspirations and encouraging and motivating the young intellectuals and young scientists in Vietnam.
