From hardship to proud achievements

Located in the mountainous border commune of Vu Quang (Ha Tinh province), Vu Quang High School faces limited infrastructure, small school size, and a shortage of teachers. However, over the years, the school has persevered. Teachers and students here have consistently implemented Directive 05 of the Politburo , linking it with the campaign "Every teacher is a role model of morality, self-learning, and creativity," considering it the key to improving the quality of education .

With the motto "Putting students at the center, using quality as the benchmark," the school has built a humane, positive environment that encourages creativity. As a result, for the past five years, the graduation rate has consistently reached 100%; many students have been admitted to top universities; some have won first prize in the national geography competition; and some have even achieved impressive international certifications such as IELTS 8.0–8.5 and SAT scores above 1500.

The teaching staff has also affirmed its position with many prestigious titles: excellent teacher at the provincial level, highly appreciated innovative teaching methods, Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister , title of Outstanding Teacher, Emulation Fighter at the provincial level…

“Teaching in mountainous border areas is challenging, but it is precisely because of this that each of us teachers is even more aware of our responsibilities. Learning from and following Uncle Ho's example is not something far-fetched; it begins with dedication, closeness to our students, and inspiring in them a love of learning and the strength to overcome difficulties. Today's achievements are the motivation for the school's staff to continue striving even harder,” expressed Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Thi Hang, a history teacher.

Beyond focusing on academic achievements, the school also promotes many humane models. The "Second Mother" Club has become a support system for underprivileged students. Free tutoring classes for weak students are regularly maintained, clearly demonstrating the spirit of learning from and following President Ho Chi Minh's example through concrete and practical actions.

Through persistent efforts, Vu Quang High School has proven that studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style is not just a slogan, but has deeply permeated every teaching and learning activity, becoming a driving force that helps teachers and students overcome difficulties and strive for excellence.

From a remote, underprivileged school in the mountainous region, Vu Quang has now become a shining example of education in Ha Tinh province, contributing to the overall achievements of the sector. This success is the result of the unity and innovative spirit of the teaching staff, as well as the attention and support from the Department of Education and Training and the local Party committee and government.

Innovation for wider dissemination

Not content with the achievements already made, Vu Quang High School continues to innovate so that the movement of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings goes deeper and spreads more strongly in the community.

Teachers integrate moral values, compassion, and perseverance into each lesson. Extracurricular activities, storytelling competitions about President Ho Chi Minh, and the "One Week - One Good Deed" movement help students develop life skills and learn to love and share.

Pham Khanh Hung (a student in class 10A) shared: “Thanks to activities like storytelling about Uncle Ho, the good deeds movement, and participating in clubs, I've learned to be more grateful, loving, and sharing. We not only learn knowledge in class but also develop life skills, become more confident in communication, and set our sights on our dreams.”

Mr. Tran Van Cat, Vice Principal of Vu Quang High School, said that the school also promotes a spirit of creativity. An internal digital resource library is being built where teachers can share lesson plans, initiatives, question banks, and in-depth materials.

The best ideas are publicly voted on and then replicated throughout the school. A core group of teachers acts as the "leaders," researching and applying modern teaching methods such as STEM, flipped classroom, and artificial intelligence.

Digital transformation has become a crucial direction. Vu Quang High School has developed a fanpage and online forum to connect parents, students, and teachers; applied technology in academic counseling and career guidance; and piloted AI in testing and evaluation.

Furthermore, emphasis is placed on fostering connections and sharing experiences. The school collaborates with universities and training centers to cultivate life skills and enhance students' technological application abilities. Inter-school partnerships in innovative teaching methods, professional development, and mock exams are regularly maintained, creating an open and effective learning environment.

"With the foundation already built, the teachers and students of Vu Quang High School affirm their determination to continue learning and following Uncle Ho's teachings through concrete, creative, and effective actions. The school not only excels in teaching and learning but also spreads many humanistic values, contributing to building a comprehensive and distinctive education," shared Mr. Tran Van Cat, Vice Principal of Vu Quang High School.
