Expressing his joy at welcoming former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam Hiroshi Fukada and his delegation, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu thanked former Ambassador Hiroshi Fukada for his positive contributions to the good relationship between Japan and Vietnam in general and Quang Nam in particular.

Comrade Ho Quang Buu also gave general information about the potential and advantages of socio- economic development, culture and people of Quang Nam.

Mr. Hiroshi Fukada sent his best wishes to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu and the leaders of Quang Nam province; and congratulated Quang Nam on its achievements in recent times.

Former Ambassador Hiroshi Fukada said he is supporting Japanese businesses to seek cooperation opportunities in Vietnam, including WNI Company - a provider of rain forecasting services for natural disaster prevention.

WNI representative informed that this is a system for monitoring and forecasting rainfall, erratic weather changes, and natural disaster warnings based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology. From there, it supports localities to respond promptly and take measures to mitigate risks caused by natural disasters.

After listening to the introduction, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu highly appreciated and said that the forecasting system is very suitable for the reality of Quang Nam when it often suffers damage from storms, floods, and landslides. These types of natural disasters have a serious impact on socio-economic development and people's lives.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to be the focal point for communication with the working delegation so that the two sides can easily support and resolve issues related to service implementation.

Sending best wishes to the former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam and the working delegation, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu hopes that Mr. Hiroshi Fukada will continue to be a bridge contributing to strengthening the friendly relations between Japan and Vietnam, especially with Quang Nam.
